There is often a stigma when it comes to adults seeking therapy. Many are worried what others might think or say, often putting aside their well-being for the sake of being seen a particular way to others. There is absolutely no issue “too small” or “not important enough” to seek help. Adults often try to hold it all together on their own, and sometimes it is difficult to remember that it is okay if you do not have everything together and need a little extra help. There is absolutely no judgment here!
For adult services, one might seek therapy for many reasons… a loss (or several losses), an illness, work related stress, family issues, trauma, addictions, and many other reasons. What ever the issue is, adults can receive individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy (if it is appropriate and a part of the person’s goal).
